Golf

Competition Cycle: Summer

Season: April – June

GOLF2Golf is a life time sport. It is challenging, but a lot of fun to play and share with family and  friends. Many a friendship has been formed on a golf course. If you would like to learn more about golf, make sure you register and be prepared to travel to various places on the North Shore.

Our Golf program, offers the participant, the opportunity to learn skills needed to play the game. Instruction is given on how to use the irons, wedges, woods and putter. Athletes meet at the driving range for instruction and take what they have learned, to the Par 3 and Public courses on the North Shore. As well, professional instruction is offered by a teaching pro, Jeri O’Hara, to small groups. Every participant has the opportunity to practice at the driving range, take small group lessons from our Professional teacher, and play on the course. The program runs from the beginning of April, to the end of June.

We do have some equipment that athletes may borrow. As well, we supply the practice range balls, and golf balls and tees for the on-course experience.

We organize a fun tournament for the end of the program. In 2009, our Local had 3 golfers represent our Region, at the Provincial Games, in Abbotsford.

Number of Competitors: 32

Number of Competitions: We organize our program to include a session at Ambleside Par 3, Murdo-Fraser Pitch and Putt, 4 to 6 holes at Gleneagles and Northlands. Our tournaments have been held at Ambleside and Gleneagles.

If you like fresh air, like to have fun and meet people, than give our golf program a try. You have nothing to lose, and may gain an activity that you can do for the rest of your life. FORE!
