YEARS INVOLVED WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS:  6 years

WHAT IS YOUR VOLUNTEER POSITION: Head Coach for Golf, Official Scorekeeper for 5 Pin Bowling and the new PR Coordinator for SOBC North Shore!

HOW DID YOU BECOME INVOLVED: After relocating to North Vancouver from Calgary I was looking for an exciting opportunity to meet some new people, get involved with an organization that inspires me and to use my free time to support something I believe in.  Special Olympics was a great organization and the North Shore athletes and volunteers have definitely inspired and motivated me!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VOLUNTEERING: My favorite part of volunteering with SOBC North Shore is the triumphant look on anyone’s face when they accomplish any goal, big or small.  The energy this group brings to everything they do is absolutely amazing, no matter how tired I am after a long day, I can rely on being met with big smiles and loud cheers at any event I attend.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OR EVENT AS A VOLUNTEER: There have been so many!!  The Diamond Anniversary Gala was so much fun, exhausting, but SO MUCH FUN!  I’ve had a great time at numerous tournaments and events and at every event I go to I marvel over the energetic spirit produced by all of the athletes, volunteers, parents and supporters for SOBC North Shore.
