“Live well, laugh often, love much!”
Parents, guardians, caregivers and friends of SOBC – North Shore athletes play an important role in each athlete’s success. They make a difference by encouraging athletes to make healthy lifestyle choices, by cheering them on at practices and competitions and by providing all-around support.
Family and friends also play an important role in the Special Olympics BC organization by helping to create a positive environment at Special Olympics events and by getting involved as volunteers and coaches.
At the same time, involvement in SOBC – North Shore provides family and friends of Special Olympics athletes with opportunities to:
~ Experience the satisfaction of watching your loved one develop and succeed in both sport and in life.
~ Meet others who understand the unique rewards and challenges of having a loved one with an intellectual disability.
~ Get involved in Special Olympics athletic and social functions and fundraising events.
~ Develop a network of support and friendship with athletes and volunteers.
