BEST ACCOMPLISHMENT IN COACHING:
Years ago, a young girl came out to a demo day for girls’ ice hockey. She couldn’t skate, and fell down a lot. She was crying, and wanted to go home. I managed to get her to stay on the ice with me, and I worked with her. By the end of the session, she was able to skate around the rink. She ended up playing until she graduated from minor hockey, and even got her two younger sisters to play as well. To me, that was a prouder accomplishment than any of the championships that I have won.
